The Pearl of Great Price

Before man made pearls cheap… they were sought after as a great treasure in nature. They form when a tiny particle slips into an oyster. The mussel sees it as an intruder and begins covering the annoying distraction sealing it off over and over. It can take years for pearls to develop becoming valued upwards of thousands of dollars.

Gods Son took on a mission from his Father to save people from their sin. Leaving heaven to go to the Cross wouldn’t be easy. Many looked to him as a threatening dangerous irritant in their lives but he was the greatest treasure of all.

When we take up our cross to grow daily, it can be difficult but his Spirit is with us, as he begins a process of making a most beautiful pearl of our life.

We are a work in progress for his glory…

The most valuable pearl though… is Jesus Christ!

In Matthew 13:45-46 Jesus said this: “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Don’t you want that Pearl???
