Proverbs in 365 Devotions

January 26

Proverbs 2:11 discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you, 12 delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech, 13 who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, 14 who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil 15 men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways.

The Lords Guiding, Equipping,

Providing and Delivering

I love these few verses. What is the benefit of all that Solomon has told told his son to do? If you seek wisdom; if you seek knowledge; if you run hard after the things of God... there is a great reward for your pursuit! You will have discretion, you will be able to see a situation for what it truly is. When wicked people try and persuade you to evil, when temptations arise... though many people may seek to pull you towards sin and death, you will have the ability to see the situation for what it is! You will see the lies and the darkness that is ahead and you will also have... as verse 8 says The Lord guarding your paths!, protecting the way of his saints.

Psalm 138:7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.
