Proverbs 16:27
A worthless man plots evil,
and his speech is like a scorching fire.
The Perfect Tongue
by Robin Aylor
Who walks on earth among mankind
With a worthless heart and wicked mind
Down deep degenerate, debunked, depraved
Sin soiled, skunky spoiled, uncoiled, smutty stained?
Who’s mission, purpose, hobby and craft
Has the drive of a pyromaniac?
Burning bridges, sticks, boats and bricks
Rejoicing, redeeming, and relationships
To tame beast or bird, reptile or sea creature,
Might provide quite a challenge and yet it's been done
But to housebreak this person would be no ones leisure
At the end call a surgeon to cut out their tongue
Still the poison that flows from that burning flame
Must find its way out of a heart unrestrained
Though it cannot be ruled over, subdued or contained
Listen! Come closer, closer, closer; THEY CAN BE CHANGED!!!
The Word became flesh and dwelt among men
With no deceit in his mouth he committed no sin
Yet was paid the wages for the worthless mans offense
So that all who believe will be born again
A new creation in Spirit includes heart, mouth and tongue
New words to sing, legs to dance and to run
No more hurling loud curses to a world all ablaze
Now we share his love, glory and power to save
James 3:5 …How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
