Proverbs 1:19 Such are the ways of everyone who is greedy for unjust gain; it takes away the life of its possessors.

More! More! More!... No More!!!

Daniel Castor

A man who is greedy will stop at nothing to get what he wants! He will swindle and manipulate others, he will step all over other people to get what he wants.  And this is what this passage speaks of when it says unjust gain. He dose not deserve what he has taken, he had just reached out his greedy hands and clasp tightly for what he wants. But will that suffice? No, he wants more... for the man of greed is there is no end. The man doesn't have a set goal. A certain amount of money will never be enough. Having a beautiful wife and nice house will not do. Greed wants only one thing: More and More and More!!! This proverb tells us that greed will take away the life of the possessor. His life will be lived in vain saying: more... more... more! And he will never find satisfaction.

Mark 8:36 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

Psalm 119:36 Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.
