Proverbs in 365 Devotions

January 11

Proverbs 1:15 my son, do not walk in the way with them; hold back your foot from their paths, 16 for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.

Who do you walk with?

The wicked's intent is to do wrong and to do it as quickly as possible. It says they run to evil.  They are not pleased until they are doing wrong. That is our natural bent.  We are all sinners by nature and if we are given the choice to do wicked or to do what is right we would choose the sinful thing ever time. Solomon instructs his son to hold back his foot from their paths. I think this is a good word for us all. To not just rush into things but to think them out and weigh the consequences. The people you surround yourself with is of great importance! They will help shape the person you become.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
