Mary Christmas
Logan Pope 12/19/2017

Of all the parts of the nativity story the most thought provoking has to be the virgin birth. God wrapping himself in flesh humbling himself and coming to save the world. Accomplished through a young woman about to be married.

Mary, a young woman who likely was full of hopes and dreams, about to be married to a man of high character. Maybe she had plans to raise a family continue to live virtuous lives with her husband. But God found favor in Mary. ( Luke 1:30)

God interrupts Mary’s life in an incredible way. An angel shows up and tells marry she’s going to have a baby, the baby, the king of kings.

At this point Mary must have had a million questions and another million questions she couldn’t think to ask. but the biggest question she had was how? “How can this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?” (Luke 1:34)

The answer: God will accomplish it.

“For nothing will be impossible with God”  (Luke 1:37).

Consider the scope of this news coming to Mary. God is asking her to do something impossible. But he’ll be responsible for the results. Has God asked you to do the impossible? For every born again believer the answer is yes.
Matthew 28:18 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit.

Without God that task is impossible. Only God can change the hearts of people. On our own we can do nothing but God will take care of the hard part we only have to say yes to him and step out in faith to be obedient to him and he will be responsible for the results.

Mary gave up all of her life plans to say yes to God
“I am the lords servant, may it be done according to your word” (Luke 1:38) She saw that being obedient to Gods plan was of greater value than anything else. Gods plan for your life is more valuable too. He wants to use you to do the impossible task of bribing his gospel to the ends of the earth.

Say yes to him today.
